Vineyard: Botriver.
Soil Type: Klapmuts, Wasbank, Cartref
Vine Age: 9 years old.
Irrigation: Drip Method
Harvest Date: March.
Yield: 8.5 t/ha.

Vinification:

Harvested at 25 balling, handpicked and delicately crushed. Cold soaked through the night. Fermentation was started the next morning, pump overs every 4 hours. Lightly pressed and matured in french oak barrels for 18 months.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Light ruby.
Nose: Dark berries, spices and cinnamon.
Palate: Fresh and juicy, with plum, blackberry and black pepper. The wood is discrete and well integrated to complement. A fresh and elegant style of Shiraz.
Other: This Shiraz will go well with roasted leg of lamb, duck with wild mushrooms or even pasta with a rich tomato based sauce.
